Bentley Priory Museum
Bentley Priory Museum is an independent museum and registered charity, governed by the Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust. The Trust was founded in 2005, in anticipation of the RAF leaving Bentley Priory in 2008 and in response to initial plans for Bentley Priory to become solely a residential area. Founding members of the Trust, including Battle of Britain veterans, were committed to ensuring that the important history of Bentley Priory was not forgotten and that its stories of leadership, courage and technology were told through a new Museum. They were particularly interested in younger generations learning about the history of the Battle of Britain, and its relevance today. The Trust's mission is to create a financially sustainable model for the Museum and to raise awareness of the important history of Bentley Priory, focusing on its pivotal role during the Battle of Britain as Headquarters Fighter Command, through engagement with the Museum's unique collection and architecture.
