Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit
the central susquehanna intermediate unit (csiu) is a public political subdivision authorized by the laws of the commonwealth of pennsylvania. it is one of 29 intermediate units created by the pa general assembly through act 102 of 1970 “to act as instruments of federal, state and local education policies and to achieve economies of scale in the provision of needed services to school districts and nonpublic schools.” the csiu provides more than 100 programs and services to learners of all ages, as well as to school entities, parents, communities, colleges/universities, municipalities and more. a regional education service agency, the csiu serves clients in columbia, montour, northumberland, snyder and union counties, as well as those in other areas of the commonwealth and in other states. the csiu central office and annex are located in two buildings on lawton lane in milton. the csiu’s center for school and communities, which administers several statewide initiatives, is located in
