Finnish Lapphund Club

The Finnish Lapphund Club of Great Britain is the founder breed club and is the only national UK club that is recognized and supported by the Kennel Club. Our aims are to protect and further interest in the breed. We work to promote the health and well-being of Lapphunds, to encourage the breed type and to offer advice to new and prospective owners. The Health section of this site gives test results of dogs used for breeding. We also supply contact information for Breeders and hold events such as breed seminars and training weekends. We have an active showing community for which we award Annual Trophies, in April we hold our Breed Club Championship Show - a highlight in the Lappy calendar and September we hold our Open Show, see the Events section for results and photos. We have Versatility Awards to recognise the achievements of members and their dogs in a wide range of activities from agility, working trials and tracking to Good Citizenship and PAT dogs. The fee is very modest and you'll receive a regular Newsletter all about the breed, events, shows and news. Membership forms can be downloaded and printed from the Membership area.
