The George Greenstein Institute
A dream come true, GGI was first seeded on a mindmap in 1978 and germinated in 2006 as an idea to promote the neuroscience of the embodied mind. GGI Founder and visionary Dr. M. A. Greenstein has brought 40 years of experience to GGI's strategic vision, her hybrid career seeded with early grad work in a UCLA spinal injury lab in the Dance building. Following "an arc of an idea," "Dr. G" has spent recent years working at the intersection of neuroscience, art and design, field testing a GGI system of "brain sm+art and mind-awake" programs for children and adults. In 2007, just before the apex of the US economic crash, Dr. Greenstein was pressed to innovate "mindfulness" practice at TEDActive, start a blog site and energize applied neuroscience discussions at "futures" conferences around the U.S. In 2010, GGI emerged as a pioneering, knowledge transfer company in the field of applied neuroscience. Today, GGI is committed to offering brain smart / mind awake products and services to inspire wonder, wisdom and wellness. In the summer of 2013, after great success in Los Angeles, Singapore, Baltimore and Tucson, Dr. Greenstein decided move GGI headquarters to Pacifica, California. In the tradition of the Aspen Institute, GGI was based in a small, healthy-living town on the beautiful coast of northern California (less than 20 minutes from San Francisco, Palo Alto and the San Francisco International Airport). Today GGI has gone mobile in the bell-weather state of California, generating intimate public talks, screenings, and collaborative research and development. We are dedicated to "R&D" especially in the area of Spatial Intelligence / Spatial Perception and Spatial Memory and in alliance with members from the growing industries of applied neuroscience research, neurotech product design and knowledge transfer for global learning and social good. As a hub working at the intersections of art, design, tech and neuroscience GGI is poised to meet the present and future needs of public health and new learning systems.
