Founded in 2004, HighVista Strategies LLC is an investment firm with approximately $1.7 billion in assets under management for qualified private clients and does not offer securities or services to the public. HighVista manages a diversified and fully integrated portfolio similar to that employed by the most successful college endowments. The strategy involves investing broadly across both marketable and alternative asset classes, utilizing the firm's access to superior manager talent, controlling total portfolio risk, and paying careful attention to vehicle selection and execution costs. The principals of HighVista have over 60 years of combined experience in the investment management, portfolio management and wealth management sectors. Daniel J. Jick is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Jick previously spent 23 years at Goldman Sachs in Boston and London and was Regional Managing Director and Regional Manager of the Boston office of Goldman Sachs Group, and has extensive experience in equities, derivatives and private wealth management. André Perold is the George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking at Harvard Business School and serves as Chair of HighVista's Investment Committee. André has published extensively on asset allocation and investment management in a range of professional journals and case studies, and also serves on the board of The Vanguard Group. Brian Chu is Chief Operating Officer of HighVista. Brian was formerly a Managing Director at Vulcan Capital, the investment office for Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) and previously was a member of the founding investment team at Highfields Capital.
