Rooted in the unique Mardi Gras culture of New Orleans, Kern Studios is the go-to company for all major Mardi Gras 'Krewes'. For Mardi Gras alone, we build over 400 floats -70% of all carnival floats in Orleans parish- each year. Yet we are so much more than just float builders! Since 1932, our tight-knit, family-owned business has expanded into one of the leading makers of parades, custom props and sculptures, themed environments and spectacular 3D outdoor billboards and advertising props. With a dedicated and experienced team of 70 people we work with great passion for a multitude of diverse clients. Combining traditional craftsmanship with the latest technology, our 250,000 square feet studio has recently been equipped with a sculpting robot and 3D scanners, enabling us to make whatever our clients imagine even more efficiently. Being driven first and foremost by creativity, our company thinks in solutions -not obstacles- to turn any idea into a reality.
