KNTU utilizes the resources of the National Weather Service, Associated Press and area storm spotters (including Denton County Skywarn). KNTU also brings you severe weather updates from the Channel 8 weather team. But, KNTU goes even further for the Denton community. KNTU has teamed up with the City of Denton to keep you informed of dangerous weather in the Denton area. If the City of Denton activates its emergency sirens, we'll break into our regular programming to bring you continuous coverage as the storm moves through the area. KNTU is in constant communication with City of Denton Emergency Management officials to bring you the most current and accurate information on why the sirens are sounding. Don't forget to keep a battery-powered radio, flashlight, and a good set of spare batteries handy for those power outages that sometimes come with a severe storm.
