Morris Property has started construction for a new UK Headquarters, at the T54 site. A leading manufacturer of CNC Routers, AXYZ, a Canadian company, will take up home with the build of a bespoke site by leading construction and developers Morris Property. The impressive building will sit on a plot of approximately 0.4 hectares and will compromise a warehouse of 54,789ft? and offices of 3,606ft?, and will also include a loading dock. Mark Sweeney, Managing Director of AXYZ International, said: "We're thrilled with this new development taking place and can't wait to set up home in the heart of the Midlands. This site is ideal to help us stay connected to our customers in the UK and throughout Europe. We wanted a building designed to meet our current needs but would also serve us well in the future and set us apart." The start of works was celebrated with a site visit from a Canadian delegation including Alf Zeuner, President of AXYZ International and Derek Jackson, VP Manufacturing Manager of AXYZ International, and was marked with a traditional sod cutting ceremony with Morris Property and agents, Silk Sharples and Jennings. Colin Silk agent from Silk, Sharples and Jennings, Shrewsbury based Chartered Surveyors said: "We have worked with Morris Property on a number of other high profile construction projects and we felt that they provided the most competitive tender and offered a value engineered approach to the contract." Morris Property will be employing a number of professional partners to work alongside the construction team on the contract, including structural engineers, architects and ecologists to assist in taking the design forward now that site preparation works have commenced. The contract period is six months with anticipated completion in late June 2015.
