Founded in 1977 in the Gateway Shopping Center, Mountain Hardware &a; Sports began with a plan to offer a great hardware store filled with a unique assortment for our mountain lifestyle, fair prices and outstanding customer service. They expanded to their current location on Donner Pass Rd. in 1991. As they have grown with the Truckee/North Tahoe community, they also purchased the Blairsden Mercantile in 2002 and Truckee Rents in 2015. Their product assortment in each location focuses on local, regional and national brands that consumers love with Mountain Hardware&s;s combination of above-and-beyond service. In 2001, they became an employee-owned company achieving 100% employee-ownership in 2013. Each location is part of their employee-owned company. When customers are talking to one of the employees, they are talking to an owner.
