Motor Transport Awards

2 September 2021, Grosvenor House Hotel, London For 35 years, the Motor Transport Awards have been seen as a benchmark for excellence among UK road transport fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers and other innovators. Because of Covid-19, 2020 was an extraordinarily challenging year for everyone in transport and logistics. Some firms specialising in events and hospitality saw work dry up and had to reinvent themselves to survive. Others in food retail, and home delivery saw unprecedented growth in volumes that put enormous pressure on staff. All this against a background of the UKs impending exit from the EU and the constant pressure to cut carbon emissions. The Motor Transport Awards are all about recognising excellence and while 2020 was a difficult year in many ways it is even more important to reflect the efforts and achievements of the people who made sure the UK was kept going through the crisis. Logistics really is the lifeblood of the economy and never was this more true than during 2020.
