Regional Australia Institute

Since the Regional Australia Institute was established in 2011, many people have spoken to us about the on-going challenge of connecting with relevant existing knowledge on regional research, development and policy. The Stocktake of Regional Research, undertaken in 2012, was the first step in creating a long term solution to this issue, aimed at providing easier access to the latest regional knowledge and research. The project engaged with 200 policy makers, researchers and regional leaders and reviewed over 80,000 pieces of national and international literature to create a database of topical, accessible research for anyone interested in regional issues. [In]Form: Australia's online library of regional research is a free and comprehensive database containing over 1,500 reports on regional issues from the years 2000 to 2012, categorised by five topics: Industry, Environment and Energy, Economy, Population and People. It provides easy access to completed and current research and data from the year 2000, and is a constantly growing and evolving tool for policy makers, researchers and regional communities. To ensure that [In]Form is kept as up to date and as useful a resource as possible, we are currently identifying and evaluating a broad range of new publications, and need your help! If you know of a piece of research or literature that focuses on long-term regional prosperity published after October 2012 that you would like to share with the RAI network, head over to the [In]Form homepage and click 'contribute' to submit it.
