SolarNow started doing business in Uganda in 2011 with a skeletal staff of 10 full time employees and five dealers who sold solar home systems on a commission basis. To date, SolarNow has over 900 full time employees in Uganda and Kenya with 70 branches. During the eight years that SolarNow has been in operation, the company has installed 37,626 solar systems to households, small businesses, schools and hospitals. This has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by around 420 cO2 tons. SolarNow's achievements to-date are partly attributed to the commitment that the company's investors, management and employees attach to the impact that SolarNow makes in the communities that it serves.
