We also provide Light and heavyweight classes for: Police, Fire, and Military Masters (40+) in the Lightweight (up to 231) and Heavyweight (231.5 and above) divisions only. There is also a 50+ and 60+ category added at masters nationals. Teenage (up to 200 - LW) 201 and above (HW) Women LW, MW, and HW. (LW- 120, 140, MW- 140.5, 160, HW- 160.5, 180, SHW 180.5 and above) NOVICE Division - Many promoters also offer a novice division. In order to compete as a novice competitor, it must either be the first NAS Sanctioned event or the athlete could not have placed 1st - 3rd in a previous contest as a Novice competitor. If the athlete has competed in an open contest, he is NOT eligible to compete as a novice. In the last four years we have sanctioned over 180 contests. Check upcoming competitions on the NAS Inc. Website to see if there is one in your area and if there is not, think about promoting a contest yourself. The yearly membership is $20 for Teenagers and $40 for everyone else. These can be purchased the day of the contest or by printing out and mailing in the downloaded membership form. We are here to provide a training ground for the professional strongman of the future. We are also here to give those who want to try strongman a chance to experience it. We will be working together to give you the best opportunities to compete and take strongman as far as you want.
