Founded in 1979 by Tony Bemrose (whose general insurance career began in 1958), Tony Bemrose Insurance Brokers (TBIB) in Brisbane's, Fortitude Valley quickly developed a reputation for looking after all clients with care, tenacity and ability to place the hardest of insurance risks. Over the course of the next thirty years TBIB has developed into a very well respected business oriented insurance brokerage. Tony established a standard of leadership and participation in the Brisbane business and insurance community and that standard remains today. Whether it be organisations such as the Fortitude Valley Chamber of Commerce through to the Queensland Council of Insurance Brokers, TBIB has maintained close commitment to the local business community. Many of Tony's initial clients are still clients of TBIB today and this stands as testament to our ability to provide a sustained and valuable service. In 1990 Tony's oldest son, Sean joined the business, and in 2000 became General Manager and Senior Broker. While Sean also benefits from many years of experience in the field, this is reinforced by his considerable formal qualifications and a commitment to ongoing study and professional development, including, a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Japanese major) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment with the Securities Institute of Australia. Sean is currently the Chair of the Technical Committee of the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers and is an elected member of the Steadfast Group under 45's Advisory Board. Sean is a director of Queensland Underwriting Solutions (a specialist property, strata and business insurance underwriter). Since 1988 Raymond Wong has been an Authorised representative of TBIB and in partnership with his company Raymond Wong and Associates, TBIB has developed a specialized insurance management service for Queensland's Asian community complete with a full multi lingual service. Our most recent addition is Mr Steve Weil. Steve joins us as a Senior Broker, and brings with him over 30 years of experience as a commercial insurance broker and underwriter. Through a combination of quality experienced staff, exceptional external strategic partnership and sheer industry experience, TBIB prides itself on providing the highest level of insurance advice to its valued clients, and we take our responsibility as claims advocate for our clients very seriously.
