TEDxRochester

About TEDxRochester: TED was first held in Monterey, California in 1984, and is now an annual event where some of the world's leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. In recent years, TED has expanded to include an international conference, TEDGlobal; media initiatives, including TED Talks and TED.com; and the TEDPrize. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created TEDx, which is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx events bring together thinkers, innovators and artists in one assembly, with the intention of promoting "Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDxRochester is a small team of enthusiastic people who are dedicated to bringing the magic of TED to downtown Rochester who has a proud history of being one of the inaugural TEDx events in the country. Embracing the TED mission of "Ideas Worth Spreading" and dedicated to highlighting the brilliance, passion and possibility that is Rochester. The TED Organization provides a license to us with general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are completely self-organized and community-funded.
