Tremont then served as the County Seat until 1850. During this time, Abraham Lincoln made a number of appearances as a lawyer in the Tremont Courthouse. Today, Tremont is a close-knit community comprised of many businesses and residents. We are well known for our annual Turkey Festival which brings in people from all over the country.
