3W Studios provided a new website design as part of this package. Critical in the design was accessibility. Not only does FDDC have a larger than most consituent audience with disabilities, but as a public entity it was imperative that the site be 508 compliant. Next, the site had to communicate clearly to prevent confusion about the mission of the organization. A large percentage of phone calls to FDDC were misplaced due to a belief that FDDC provided services to the public. In fact, FDDC manages funding to service providers. 3W Studios also supporting the legislative session with email marketing, providing branded emails with legislative updates and important RFP notifications. The last component of the project was to make the site accessible to FDDC staff. The site was relaunched using a content management system that gave FDDC staff hands-on control of the site. The web-based tools let editors keep the site up to date without the need for technical knowledge of HTML or other coding.
