The Company produces granulated white sugar of high commercial value and has a definite edge in the market. In 1997-98, the Company became one of the only three sugar mills in Pakistan to produce sugar that meets the international quality standard. The quality of our Company's fine alcohol has a very good reputation and is well recognized at national as well international level. Major chunk of our alcohol production is being exported to Europe, Japan, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Philippine. As part of Company strategic planning, the Company ventured into inorganic growth by acquiring Al-Abbas Industries Limited in 2007. At that time Al-Abbas Industries Limited have one of the country's biggest medium density fibre board plant, manufacturing facilities to produce various types of alloys product to meet the whole country demand, and 15 MW captive power plant. Subsequently, the Al-Abbas Industries Limited merged into the Al-Abbas Sugar Mills Limited. The Company's vibrant, motivating role in bringing about refinement in the sugarcane crop in the region and increasing yield per acre, while doing its best to enhance the all round education and quality of life of the growers and their families makes it truly unique amongst the industry leaders. The Company is really care about preserving and augment environment and well aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility. In order to achieve this objective, a waste water treatment plant was installed in 2001. The system involves treatment of effluents of the plant on a waste water treatment unit based on Canadian technology, using the anaerobic digester system. Not only are the effluents treated to meet the local environmental standards, but also biogas is generated, which is used in turn as a fuel for the boilers, making significant contribution towards the economy of the sugar plant. The Management of the Company maintains a special interest in the social uplift of its employees and residents around the plant with discernible concern for environment. In pursuance of this noble objective, the Company has invested in several social projects including a primary school offering good quality education at nominal cost, continuous financial support to a foundation to develop and maintain a school and medical complex spread over 20 acres. The plans are also afoot to provide community library, computer training facility and other facilitates to the people of town for their educational and social uplift.
