Automated Conveyor Systems

Automated Conveyor Systems

Automated Conveyor Systems, Inc. was founded in 1975 by Mr. James D. Taylor and Mr. George Ramsey. The company was originally located on Kemper Street across from the railroad station in historic downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. As the company continued to grow, additional space was leased until on December 31st, 1986 when the entire 74,000 square foot building was purchased. In 1996 ACS built a new 143,220 square foot building on a 13 acre site. The new facility houses manufacturing, engineering and administration. All this additional space enabled ACS to streamline the conveyor manufacturing process, thus increasing the company's manufacturing capacity and quality. Through the outstanding service provided by our domestic and international sales representatives, ACS now supplies equipment and services to all 50 states and nearly 50 countries around the world. ACS became an employee owned company under the Employee Stock Ownership Program in 1986. Currently, approximately 90 employees participate. The company also sponsors a 401K Retirement Program for all 130+ full time employees. ACS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
