Wood Men

It was created as a sounding board for black men who are striving to break down barriers, break curses, push boundaries, overcome strongholds, discover strength, come into self-love, and maintain peace while becoming fathers, husbands, leaders, commanders, and pillars within their community. A Few Wood Men was started in 2017, by Shanayla Sweat, a young woman on a mission of finding the perfect gift that represented her grandfather's character. He was the neighborhood dad that did not mind taking in or caring for the neighborhood strays, the runaways, or fatherless children that walked amongst the community. He was the man that listened intently and showed up consistently. He was the man that worked hard and made a way when you ran out of options. He was the source...but he was also the man. Tall, dark, and handsome with style, George Lester, was the epitome of an A Few Wood Men. It was because of him that A Few Wood Men was created.
