A F International College

Since 1995, A F International has been helping motivated non-native English speakers achieve the communicative competence necessary to meet academic, professional, social, and presonal goals so that they can participate as successful members of the global community. Our English as a Second Language (ESL ) programs offer excellence in teaching, continuous curriculum development and student services. A F International is an active and responsible representative of the ESL community, the State of California, and the United States through its ethical, legal, and caring treatment of international students. To advance this mission, A F International has established these institutional goals: 1. To employ qualified, talented staff and instructors who support the use of independent learning strategies; 2. To utilize the most appropriate educational tools and methodologies; 3. To encourage a positive and realistic concept of self and others in our multicultural society; 4. To provide an atmosphere for positive experiences with people of other cultures that encourages a global worldview. From A F: Our Mission Statement has guided us since 1995 when A F International School of Languages Inc. first opened its doors in Westlake Village, California. The letters A and F are the initials of Dr. Andrea Fuchs, the founder of AFI and a passionate educator herself. From a small classroom with initially three students, we have since grown into two locations, and along the way we made many friends from all over the world who joined AFI to improve their English skills and to be part of an exciting, international community in which they learn, explore, have fun and speak English.
