Afognak Native
Afognak Native Corporation (Afognak) is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) formed under the 1971 Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). It was formed through the merger of two Alaska Native village corporations: Natives of Afognak, Inc. and Port Lions Native Corporation. It provides a myriad of initiatives that include Sharehold Employment Supports, Sharehold Training, and Shareholder Business Supports. Shareholders of Afognak is the indigenous people of Afognak Island, which is located in the Kodiak Archipelago in the Gulf of Alaska. The company was founded in 1977 and is located in Kodiak, Alaska.
