Aviation Fleet Solutions
Aviation Fleet Solutions was formed in 2003 to develop aftermarket modifications for commercial aircraft. The MD-80 noise-reduction program was chosen as the company's first project because of a clear need for compliance with tighter restrictions on jet-engine noise levels. The QuietEagle® program enhances the service life of a valuable aircraft, while addressing worldwide concern about the environmental effects of noise. To meet that challenge, Aviation Fleet Solutions recruited a team of experts in acoustics, aerodynamics, certification, and program management, and joined forces with Pratt & Whitney, which supplied exclusive proprietary technology and key components for MD-80 noise reduction. The resulting package, the QuietEagle®® System, is the only OEM-sponsored system offering noise reduction exceeding Stage 4/Chapter 4 noise standards. Keystone, Inc., whose principle investor is Robert M. Bass, is the primary investor in Aviation Fleet Solutions. Keystone Inc, along with Oak Hill Capital, a private equity firm in which Mr. Bass is the lead investor, has a focused set of aerospace investments including a supersonic business jet, a freighter company, a consortium of aerospace manufacturing companies, and an aircraft leasing company.
