Alamo Heights School Foundation

The Alamo Heights School Foundation has provided significant support for students and teachers in AHISD for over forty years. AHSF is committed to furthering its mission of encouraging high expectations for all students in a supportive, nurturing environment and maximizing individual student potential through challenging curricula and access to the latest technology. Created in 2002, the AHSF Endowment Fund provides an avenue in which supporters of public education excellence can significantly impact AHISD in the future as well as today. Currently, about half of the funds in the endowment are restricted, named funds and the other half is comprised of the unrestricted General Endowment. AHSF is committed to growing the General Endowment Fund through periodic campaigns but also through development of a Planned Giving Program from its loyal alumni. Endowment income is distributed to AHISD annually to cover $250,000 in overall teacher salaries, funding for Endowed teaching positions, named grants for teachers, special programs, grants recognizing outstanding instructional achievement and named scholarships that go to AHHS graduates. While support of teacher grants and salaries come from the Annual Giving Campaign, most gifts to AHISD are calculated from the endowment fund. Contributors to the Endowment Fund provide stable, long-term funding for programs that will enable AHISD to continue offering outstanding public education despite financial restrictions placed on the district by the state. A tax deductible gift to the Alamo Heights School Foundation Endowment Fund is a uniquely effective way to invest in the future of AHISD and our community. A very special way to give to the endowment is to "Take a Seat" by dedicating an auditorium chair "in honor of..." or "in memory of..." someone you choose.
