Originally from England, founder Cyril (Cy) W. Lemmon established Architects Hawaii Ltd. (AHL) in the garage of his Waikiki home in 1946. His commitment to serving the community, understanding the culture, and heightening public awareness of architecture and planning remains the philosophy and foundation of AHL. Over the past 7 decades, the firm has had the opportunity to plan and design projects that include the Hawai'i State Capitol, Waikiki-Kapahulu Library, Shriner's Hospital, O'ahu Country Club, Restoration of Ali'iolani Hale Judiciary Building, Federated States of Micronesia Capitol, John A. Burns School of Medicine, and numerous residential, commercial, and industrial facilities throughout Hawai'i, the Pacific Rim, Asia, and United States. Today, AHL is a multi-disciplinary architectural firm with international experience in architecture, planning, and interior design. Based in Honolulu, the firm has developed a worldwide reputation as one of the most versatile and progressive design firms in the Pacific Region. AHL's staff of over 90 offer a full range of architectural services to clients throughout Hawai'i, the Pacific Rim, Asia, and United States. AHL has received more than 175 awards for its design excellence in high- and low-rise housing (multi-family and luxury residences), hotels and resorts, commercial retail and office, educational, healthcare, industrial, institutional, and specialty projects. AHL received awards on a range of projects including the Hawai'i Hall Restoration at the University of Hawai'i, Kaua'i Main Police Facility, Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club, Castle & Cooke Homes Hawai'i Northpointe Development, The shops at Wailea, Outrigger Waikoloa Resort, Turtle Bay Resort Renovations, and the Aston Ka'anapali Shores. Our Team represents extensive experience on both government and private sector projects throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific. Our current projects include the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine, the International Market Place Renovations, Walmart/Sam's Club Ke'eaumoku, Castle & Cooke Mililani Mauka Development, Villas on The Prince and Villas of Kamali'i on the island of Kaua'i, and the Shops at Maunalani on the Big Island.
