A. K. Rice Institute

The A. K. Rice Institute was founded in 1969 by Margaret Rioch to create a U.S. organization to manage and promote group relations conferences using the methodology developed by A. Kenneth Rice in his work at the U.K.-based Tavistock Institute. The ideas of the A. K. Rice Institute originated in 1965 when Rioch collaborated with Rice to organize the first group relations conference held in North America. Historical archives of the A. K. Rice Institute are publicly available upon request at the American University Library.
