Aleph Book

Aleph Book Company is an independent Indian publishing firm founded in May 2011 by David Davidar in partnership with R. K. Mehra and Kapish Mehra of Rupa Publications India. Aleph focuses on publishing books of enduring literary quality. The hallmarks of the fiction and non-fiction the company publishes are originality, style, substance, readability, and that ineffable quality that separates the merely competent from the good and the great. Aleph's authors run the gamut from debut or unheralded writers at the cutting edge of fiction and non-fiction to well-established names who are emblematic of literary excellence in India and throughout the world. Aleph publishes approximately forty titles annually (including reissues and paperbacks of the previous year's hardcovers) in the following categories - fiction, history, biography, autobiography, current events, reportage, travel, popular science, art, music, nature studies, the environment, business, translations, philosophy, sociology, psychology, popular culture - as well as works of narrative non-fiction that are not easily categorized. Every book the company publishes reflects its emphasis on excellence in editorial quality, design, printing and packaging. Aleph's team comprises A.K. Singh (and his team), Aienla Ozukum, Amit Bhattacharya, Bena Sareen, Melody Banee, Neeraj Gulati, Pujitha Krishnan, Purushotam Kumar Sharma, Rahul Verma, Rajkumari John, Ritu Vajpeyi-Mohan, Rizwan Khan, Rupsha Ghosh, Sanskrita Bharadwaj, Simar Puneet, Shorya Bhutani and Vasundhara Raj Baigra.
