The credit union began in 1940 and served US postal carriers. Today, the credit union enjoys a community charter and membership is available to anyone living, working, or worshipping in Lubbock, Hockley, Lamb, Hale, Floyd, Crosby, Garza, Lynn and Terry counties. With just over 28,000 members, ACU is the largest credit union on the South Plains.
