Alscient Limited want to ensure that the impact of its decisions on society and the environment are continually improved upon and reduced as much as possible. This initiative is at the core of our organisation and the entire company follow the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility guidelines. Each individual understands their contribution to this initiative means a happier working environment and sustainable success for everyone involved - employees, stakeholders, customers and the business as a whole. As a business, we adhere to all UK business laws and are completely transparent with anyone who has an interest in our company. Not many businesses can say they disclose all their financial accounts to their employees, but we think being able to show our team what they have helped the business achieve just makes them feel a part of it. Human Rights The health and safety of our employees is paramount and we actively follow strict guidelines, with each new recruit undergoing a health and safety briefing and partaking in fire safety drills every 6 months. Labour Practices We encourage a diverse work place so we have people who can relate to our customers and to ensure we are attracting and retaining the best people for the job. A difficulty we have as an IT company is the lack of female interest in the roles we advertise, so we aim to double our number of female employees in the next year. Our people are the heart of our business. We progress our team throughout their careers with yearly APR meetings, personal development plans and achieving specific certifications. Environmental Impact Recycling is encouraged with specific paper bins in place. As an IT company, we occasionally acquire new laptops and either donate old working laptops to charity or if no longer functional recycle them. Operating practices Alscient Limited has gained an ISO 9001 certification, as we follow strict processes and produce consistent documentation. Customer Issues We deal with all our customers with the utmost respect and integrity. Without them we wouldn't have a business. Community involvement Each year, we have a nominated local charity which receive a donation so they can do more great work in the area. Last year's charity was Martin House Children's Hospice.
