Altamaha Electric Membership Corporation, located in the southeast quadrant of Georgia, has been headquartered in Lyons since 1936. Established as a member-owned electric distribution cooperative with small beginnings in a rural community, Altamaha now serves almost 20,000 meters with nearly 3,500 miles of line.
