ALU is an international company with over 25 years of experience catering to the retail world. Under the vision of Abramo Manfrotto, ALU has grown to become an expert and innovative solutions provider that, since its founding, has partnered with many leading international retailers and premium brands. Great ideas know neither frontiers nor flags, so it is no surprise that ALU was born in NYC from the roots of an Italian photographic company founded by Lino Manfrotto. It was 1987 when Lino Manfrotto, along with his son, Abramo, realized that several New York retailers were using his Autopoles as window displays. They jumped on the creative wave and soon branched out from the photographic equipment business to open ALU's first showroom in New York's Fashion District. Success in America followed quickly and in 1992, ALU plunged into the European market with a range of ready-made ALU products. In November 2009, MoMA New York added both the ALU Autopole and Super Clamp to its permanent design and architecture collection. With a philosophy of ethical corporate behavior and product innovation, Abramo Manfrotto continues to shape ALU into a leading force within the retail and design industry.
