Anna Beck Designs

Anna Beck Designs was officially established in 2003, although its foundation had been laid years earlier. Upon graduating from Boston University, designer and owner Becky Hosmer decided to "see the world." After spending time in Europe, Becky made her way to South Asia, where she traveled extensively through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. She soon fell in love with the region. She also became fascinated with the art of jewelry making in those countries, particularly the exquisite craftsmanship of the jewelry on the Indonesian island of Bali. It's in Bali where the story of Anna Beck begins. Bali is a stunningly beautiful country, surrounded by coral reefs, white and black sand beaches and studded with mountains. The longer Becky spent in the country, the more she developed an intimate connection with the island's people. Already intrigued with the traditional jewelry making techniques she found in Southeast Asia, Becky devoted her remaining time in Bali to studying the craft. She spent time with a variety of jewelry artisans in their workshops, learning as much as she could and devising a plan to create a line of jewelry that would radiate the essence of Balinese life. So with little knowledge of the jewelry design business, but lots of hard work and enthusiasm, Becky created the first Anna Beck collection. She sold her pieces door to door to boutiques around the United States, and soon her single-minded determination to growing her fledgling line paid off. This lead to Anna Beck Designs being carried in numerous stores around the world. Today Becky employs more than 100 silver smiths in Bali and manages a team in Los Angeles. She continues to travel to Bali to create new designs and gain new inspiration from the island and people that gave birth to Anna Beck.
