Apronstrings Pet

Apronstrings Pet Sitting was established in 1990 by Kim Tank, a registered veterinary technician. Kim brought her knowledge of pet care into a career that fulfilled her dream. She continues to be passionate about it to this day. She lives in Concord with her husband of over 30 years, her four children, 3 cats, and 6 chickens. Pet sitting is a great responsibility and Apronstrings is booked with reservations all 365 days each year. In 1996, Kim hired her first employee. Her goal has always been to be large enough to serve the needs of her clients every day, yet small enough to keep the very personal touch that is so valued in the field of pet care. Also on the Apronstrings team are the following sitters: Lyn, who has been on board since 1997. She helps out mainly during school breaks as she is a teacher. She lives in Concord with a variety of pets. It has been great to have her on our staff for so long! Michele joined the team in 2007. She lives in Concord with her family and is part of our dog walking team on weekdays. The pets love her! Debby was hired in 2008. She works mostly on the weekends. She lives in Pittsburg with her two rescued Greyhounds. The pets love her too! Kim's son Trevor started working in 2008 when he turned 18. He is in the Army Reserves, having served in Afghanistan and attends DVC. He is one of our midday dog walkers. The pets are always happy to see him! Lucio was hired in 2013 and does a variety of visits, both during the week and on the weekend. Yep, they love him too! Brooke also was hired in 2013 and does midday dog walks. She lives in Pleasant Hill. And she is no exception, you guessed it, she is popular with the furry ones too! All of our staff members are employees and are covered under our insurance, bond and worker's compensation policies.
