Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem

Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem

Formed in 1994, Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem, P.C. (ASB) provides all anesthesia care to the patients of St. Luke's University Health Network at the Bethlehem, Anderson, and Miners Campuses, the Center for Specialized Surgery, Valley Eye Surgical Center, and Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center. The mission statement of Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem, P.C. is as follows: We believe that focusing on patient care for the entirety of the surgical "episode" improves patient health, safety, and satisfaction. Therefore, our mission is to provide comprehensive perioperative services, from the moment the patient is scheduled for surgery to the time that the patient is discharged from the hospital after surgery. This includes appropriate preoperative medical assessment and intraoperative anesthetic management, as well as post-operative care in the setting of both critical care medicine and post-operative pain management. Our physician anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists provide this care at a standard expected by the community while meeting the highest quality standards as endorsed by the Joint Commission, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Our twenty-six (26) physician anesthesiologists are among the finest educated with most having trained at premier teaching institutions in all anesthetic specialties. Along with our highly skilled anesthesiologists, we employ Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who are all Master's prepared Advance Practice Nurses and Board Certified. CRNAs work under the close direction of the anesthesiologist as part of the anesthesia care team that will provide you with superior care before, during, and after your procedure. ASB professionals cover more than 35,000 cases annually. In addition to our staff of anesthesiologists experienced in both regional and general anesthesia, ASB includes the expertise of eight (8) Cardiothoracic fellowships, two (2) Critical Care fellowship trained physicians and one (1) fellowship trained physician in Pain Management.
