About PT Astra Honda Motor (www.astra-honda.com) PT Astra Honda Motor Company is the largest manufacturer of motorcycles and sole licensee for Honda motorcycles in Indonesia. The company was initially founded in 1971 as PT Federal Motor, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PT Astra International. The Honda Motor Company of Japan bought a stake in the company in 2000, and the company name was subsequently changed to PT Astra Honda Motor in 2001. The company has 8,000 employees in three manufacturing plants in Indonesia: two in Jakarta and another plant in Cikarang. The company has an annual manufacturing capacity of 2 million motorcycles. Since 1971, the company has produced in excess of 15 million motorcycles.
