The Auburn Massachusetts Fire Department provides Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to the Town of Auburn. A residential community located in Worcester County, Auburn is 16.4 sq. mi. and has a permanent population of 16,474. A large commercial and industrial base along with five major highways that include Routes 12, 20, 290, 395 and the Mass Turnpike make for an estimated daytime population of 32,498 people and produce approximately 3,000 calls for service annually. The Town is protected from two fire stations that house 4 Engines, 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Brush Truck and 3 Ambulances. The department consists of 30 full time members and 15 paid on call firefighters.
