Avatar Accessories Inc. is the new incarnation of one of the pioneering fashion accessories firms in the Philippines. We are backed by the Carungay family whose involvement in the industry date back to 1974. We were renamed in January 2000 to reflect a shift in our product focus. While our traditional competence and competitive advantage in producing traditional Philippine wood and shell jewelry remain intact, we decided to expand our range into more design-intensive fashion accessories. While we just marked our seventh year in January 2007, Avatar has become one of the leading manufacturers of cutting edge, meticulously crafted costume jewelry in the region. We have already garnered numerous awards and press recognition for design excellence. Another accolade is our inclusion in the Swarovski "Trendsetter" List making us the only Philippine manufacturer to be part of this elite group that counts some of the world's best-known designers and brands as members. In June 2002, we decided to leverage our expertise in jewelry manufacturing and expanded into the production of bags. In just over six months, this segment now accounts for 20% of our volume with more expansion already being undertaken. We are forecasting that this new business unit will equal the main jewelry line within two years of launch. While we are very proud of what our team has accomplished in such a short period of time, we remain committed to further enhancing not only our products but also how we conduct business in our continuous pursuit of being at par with the world's best.
