A Wider Circle
At A Wider Circle, we mourn with all the families and friends of those who were killed in Orlando, as we do when any of these horrific acts occur. We never lose sight of our oneness here, and we know that what happens to one of us happens to all of us. Personally, I started A Wider Circle because I thought we should be louder about love than we were about hate - that we would not seek separation from others but seek connection. Today, we commit to that with even more determination. We cross paths with far more than 100,000 people a year here - as volunteers, clients, donors, and in presentations here and in the community - and we always seek to lead with love. Now, we will keep that even more in the forefront of our work. Today, we will put front and center the need to stand with one another, to walk alongside one another, to always remember that as one of us goes, so go all of us. Our hearts go out to those whose lives will never be the same because of what happened early Sunday morning in Orlando. It will make us that much more determined to love all in our midst and to be responsible members of the community. It will make us more determined servants of those in need, wherever they are and whatever need is present in their lives.
