Baitali Group of Companies

The first company within the Baitali Group of Companies 'Surinaamse Constructie Maatschappij N.V.' (SCM) was established in the 1960's. However it was only in 1964 when this firm was sold to Mr. Gobardhan Baitali. After several years Mr. Baitali applied for another contractor's permit, in order to expand his activities as civil engineering contractor aside of the native mechanical discipline. In 1980 the second company 'AannemingsMaatschappij Baitali N.V.' (AMB) was officially founded. In order to diversify his activities Mr. Baitali also founded 'Machinale Landbouwbedrijf Nanni N.V.' (MLN) in 1986. This company is located in Nickerie. With this company Mr. Baitali added agriculture to the business range. In 1990 the collective of companies were brought into one holding: 'Verenigde Bedrijven Baitali N.V.' (VBB), also known as the Baitali Group of Companies. Mr. Baitali fulfilled the position of General Manager of this Holding until his passing in 2004. Baitali Group of Companies N.V. currently has approximately 350 employees and has experienced a significant growth in turnover, personnel, projects and resources since. This growth can be attributed to the philosophy which was then successfully implemented and still serves as an objective today: Expansion of the management team & technical staff; Introduction of quality control in all company activities; Expansion of the work force; Renewal of the plant; Expansion of the equipment fleet; Optimization of the office facilities. As a result, the total efficiency of the enterprise as well as the degree of professionalism brought forth into the projects has been optimized, which allowed works to be executed simultaneously and gave the clients a great deal of confidence in the company. In order to continuously improve the quality and performance, 'Baitali Pavement Testing & Technologies N.V.' (BPTT) was founded in 2012. This company is an independent ISO certified laboratory that manages the quality control and assurance on all activities within the Baitali Group.
