Bansko

The ski resort of Bansko offers the following sport facilities: * The area arround Bansko is very appropriate place for Nordic Walking for poeple who look for interesting physical excercises; * Mineral baths with swimming pools; * Ride with bugy - this is attraction similar to Safari in which the entertainment and the high adrenalin are the main part; * a few ski schools with very experienced ski teachers who work and during the summer as well as tourist guides; * Center for mountain and ski sports with modern ski facilities and cable-ways. The ski zone in Bansko offers: * Ski pistes with excellent quality - 56 km in total, the season is guaranteed from December till May thanks to the 30 cannons for artifical snow - TechnoAlpin; * Main area for skiing is Shiligarnika. It is located 1700 - 2500 meters above the sea level and some 12 km away from Bansko. To there you can get with car or a bus or the ski lifts. * Other ski area is Chalin Valog - located at 1100 - 1600 meters above the sea level and some 6 km away from Bansko. There are postes for very experienced skiers and other which are good for beginners. Ski contests and competitions in Bansko: * The national contest for ice sculptures "Fire of ice" * National championship for snowboard; * Skiing - Alpine; * Pirin cup - cross-country skiing; * National biathlon championship, * European tournament in arm wrestling * Football tournaments.
