Bay Area Underwater Explorers

BAUE is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration and conservation of our planet's underwater regions. Most of our activities take place in Northern California. To achieve our goals, we apply the philosophy, standards, and procedures of diving originated by George Irvine and Jarrod Jablonski, and taught through Global Underwater Explorers. BAUE successfully demonstrates the GUE mission statement within our local diving community. We are involved in a variety of short and long-term projects which range from large scale single weekend events to ongoing focused research projects. BAUE promotes continued diver education and safety within our group through a variety of activities. We conduct regular pool sessions, training dives, and local instructors offer workshops to support ongoing training objectives. We host presentations, workshops by expert explorers, and educators from around the world. BAUE fosters diver education in the community through various outreach programs and provides useful and pertinent information on this website. We also promote reasoned, thought-provoking debate on our e-mail list. Bay Area Underwater Explorers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible contribution to BAUE, or in working with us on a research project, please send a message to [email protected].
