Beachcities Church

From its earliest days, Beachcities Community Church has chosen a style of ministry that seeks to present the truth of Christ in genuine, authentic, meaningful and friendly ways. Typically, churches have gained a reputation for being unfriendly, boring and out of touch with real life. We're working to change that by presenting a life-changing message through the Holy Spirit's power in friendly ways to which people can relate. Dig a little deeper and you'll find that our church is built not only on an authentic, contemporary and relevant approach to ministry, but also on a foundation that represents the very heartbeat of God. It's our desire to pour our energies into what Jesus says really counts in life: loving God and loving people! The first of all the commandments is found in Mark 12:29-31: "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these." As we become excellent at keeping the greatest commandments (loving God and others) we will also become effective at accomplishing the greatest mission to help people find Christ and grow given to us by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. This in turn will lead to the greatest life possible a life of loving service to God and man. Colossians 1:28: "We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. (NIV) Our purpose at Beachcities Community Church is to "Help people find Christ and grow in maturity-spiritually, emotionally and relationally." We believe that the sequence stated in our mission statement is the most natural way of spiritual growth. Growth begins with a personal spiritual connection and commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. When that happens, the Spirit of God begins to make an internal change in desires and emotions of the heart (in place of fear there is peace; in place of sadness there is joy; in place of guilt and shame there is cleansing and acceptance; in place of selfishness there is love; in place of growing discontentment there is fulfillment and purpose, etc.). This spiritual and emotional transformation which the Bible calls being "born again" (John 3:3) naturally results in positive relational impact-the new believer begins to see his or her influence affect family and friends in constructive ways that help them find Christ and begin the process for themselves. In order to accomplish this mission, we have kept our ministry strategy intentionally simple. So you'll find on a normal Saturday or Sunday service that we celebrate our hope by learning practical truths for everyday living taken directly from the Word of God and combined with a style of worship that is celebrational. Our goal at our weekend services is to help people find Christ and grow in their practical knowledge of living effectively as Christians in today's increasingly non-Christian culture. In our small group ministry known as TEAM (Together Encouraging And Ministering), we practically apply the Word of God in ways that deepen our love for one another. In these groups of 8-12 people who meet year round, you will find sincere and enjoyable people who have a common value system and priority commitment to live an authentic Christian life in the midst of our busy and fragmented culture. Our intention is to encourage each other to live as genuine Christ-like followers whose lives will shine brightly for God and attract others to faith in Him through their day-to-day life experiences. We have found that by consistently implementing these simple ministry strategies we have been able to fulfill our mission of helping people find Christ and grow.
