Bearsden Academy
Bearsden Academy was founded in 1911, and is a non-denominational, six-year comprehensive school situated in the Glasgow suburb of Bearsden. Its location on the former St Andrew's College campus gives it a central focus in the community, and it is within easy reach of the four associated primaries: Baljaffray, Bearsden, Castlehill and Mosshead. In addition, a significant number of pupils transfer from nearby St Andrews Primary in Bonnaughton, and placing requests from Glasgow, Clydebank and beyond now account for a significant proportion of the current roll of around 1200. In addition, the school is home to a successful Language and Communication Resource funded by East Dunbartonshire Council. At present, 13 pupils attend the resource and are integrated to varying levels within classes.
