Belhaven operates in many different channels of the Scottish licensed trade. As a business, we have grown from very small roots and all our managers try hard to share the knowledge gleaned from one Division with the others. We hope that this knowledge enables us to be a considerate landlord, able to balance the demands of our own shareholders with the requirements and objectives of our licensees. Belhaven is not a business which is run from text books or manuals. We are a 'touch and feel' company and we try to flex each of our business arrangements to meet the specific needs of a situation. If you do decide to enter into a contract of lease with Belhaven, you can rest assured of our interest in your business at all times. As Scotland's leading independent regional brewer and pub operator, we operate an integrated range of brewing, distribution and retail activities from the Brewery at Dunbar, depots in Dumfries, Aberdeen and Alloa, our Leased Division, based in Stirling and our ever-increasing retail estate throughout Scotland. At the Brewery in Dunbar we brew Belhaven Best and a range of cask, keg, bottled and canned beers which are distributed, along with a broad portfolio of lagers, ciders, stouts and soft drinks to the Scottish licensed trade from four distribution bases in Aberdeen, Alloa, Dunbar and Dumfries. We operate both leased and managed pubs, spanning a variety of types of licensed houses including student bars and young venues, traditional, family, community and village pubs and small hotels. Over half of our pubs are leased and with an ambitious expansion programme, and the necessary funding arrangements in place we plan to increase our leased pubs significantly over the next few years.
