Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks serves Northwest Arkansas school children with programs in the schools and at the Garden. Classes and programs explore a broad array of garden-related topics, including wild plants, animals in the garden, health and wellness, sustainability, and garden and floral design. Our children's programs are extensive. In 2013 over 19,000 children visited the Garden for school field trips, science education, camps, and special events. One of our most popular programs is Little Sprouts, a weekly summer program beginning in May for all children up to five years old. For children ages 7 to 11, BGO offers a 6-session day camp called Explore@BGO which meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in June and July. Children have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning activities that expose them to the wonders of the natural world.
