BIOSFER is a leading biotechnology company in the in vitro diagnosis sector that provides analysis services for the study and monitoring of alterations to metabolism using high-performance Nuclear Magnetic Resonance technology (NMR). It was set up in 2013 as a spin-off of the Metabolomics Platform at Rovira y Virgili University (URV) and the Pere i Virgili Institute of Biomedical Research (IISPV), with the goal of developing an advanced lipoprotein test - Liposcale (CE) - currently in use in clinical practice in order to increase knowledge and improve cardiovascular health. The company's background has allowed it to professionalise biological marker analysis using NMR, the development of biocomputing tools and make progress in automatic learning technology (Artificial Intelligence) for the identification of metabolic patterns or signs associated with illness.
