BIP

BIP offers a full range of thermosetting formaldehyde resins including products based on urea, melamine, ketone-aldehyde and DHEU (dihydroxy ethylene urea) chemistries. The products may be alkylated to modify performance; this is usually achieved by reaction with methanol although other alcohol modifications are available through custom synthesis. In addition, both anionic and cationic polymers are available for specialist applications. In accordance with the Company philosophy of designing products to have minimal environmental impact, the entire range is free from organic solvents being supplied either in water or, in some cases at 100% solids. These products may be activated by heat or acids, or a combination of the two. Detailed information is available from the Chemical Technical group. Great attention has also been given to the issue of unreacted formaldehyde and many years of research and development ensures that the products are industry leaders in terms of low formaldehyde release during application. Formaldehyde chemistry remains core to BIP. Over 80 years experience has placed BIP as a prefered partnerfor toll manufacture of amino plus etherification technology and low temperature distillations.
