Blind Veterans UK

At Blind Veterans UK, we believe that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone. Founded in 1915 and previously known as St Dunstan's, we provide practical and emotional support for thousands of ex-Service men and women. We help them recover their independence and discover a life beyond sight loss. We believe every vision impaired veteran should have the support they need, regardless of when they served or how they lost their sight - and that's what we are working to achieve. Our innovative training and rehabilitation centres in Brighton , Sheffield and Llandudno, North Wales and our local community projects teach blind veterans vital skills that help them lead full and independent lives. The support we offer is free, tailored and for life. In our 100 year history we have helped change the lives of over 35,000 ex-Service men and women and their families, from Flanders Fields to Afghanistan or who have served and lost their sight in later life. Looking forward to our next century we have made a pledge to support all of our blind veterans for life. Inevitably some beneficiaries join us as teenagers and could need our support for the next 80 years or more; from initial rehabilitation to life-long welfare support, we will be with them every step of the way. We owe a huge debt to the brave men and women who have served our country and now face blindness. Rest assured that a legacy pledge will provide all our future blind veterans with a lifeline for many years to come.
