Bridgewater College

Bridgewater makes its annual trip to St. Mary's College in Maryland to play in the Seahawk Classic where the Eagles will meet Salisbury and St. Mary's, both members of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). Salisbury finished the 2017 season with an 8-9-3 record while St. Mary's posted an 11-7 record. The Eagles split two games at the 2017 Seahawk Classic, edging Salisbury 1-0 and falling to St. Mary's 2-1. Bridgewater then makes the short trip to Harrisonburg to face rival Eastern Mennonite in a match that will not count in the ODAC standings. The Royals finished with a 10-7 record in 2017. EMU rallied from a 3-0 first-half deficit to defeat the Eagles 4-3 in overtime in last year's matchup. The Eagles complete their non-conference slate with a home contest against Southern Virginia, another member of the CAC. Last season, the Eagles and SVU met at Emory & Henry's tournament with Bridgewater taking a 1-0 victory. The Knights were 4-15 overall in 2017. Bridgewater's faces a new opponent on the conference schedule on Oct. 3 when the Eagles play at Ferrum College, the ODAC's newest member. In addition to the game at Ferrum, Bridgewater has ODAC road games at Virginia Wesleyan, Hampden-Sydney, Lynchburg and Roanoke. Bridgewater opens conference play on Sept. 19 when the Eagles host Shenandoah. Bridgewater also hosts Emory & Henry, Guilford, Randolph and Washington and Lee in ODAC play.
