Broad River is one of Furniture Today's Top 100 US Furniture Stores and is the largest independently owned licensee of Ashley HomeStore. The Company has also been recognized by Furniture Today as one of four Retail Giants of Bedding in the U.S., based on its achievements in the competitive mattress arena. Founded in 2003 by Executive Chairman Jonathan Ishee and headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Broad River Retail is the regional licensee of 18 Ashley HomeStores in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, including one Ashley HomeStore Outlet in Charlotte. The privately-held Company employs over 500 at its stores, distribution center and corporate office. Broad River received the IMPACT Award from Furniture Today in September 2017 for leadership in innovation and community service initiatives, including its work with not-for-profit Beds for Kids, through which it donates funds for beds for children who have no bed of their own.
